Malfy Originale has a very classic style nose. Spice notes are slightly loud with a lot of piney, green and herbaceous juniper right beside it. The slightest tinge of lemon on the tip of the tongue when sipped. Despite that flash, the real star of the early and mid is herbaceous juniper. There’s suggestions of tarragon and chervil here. Towards the end, bitter lemon peel and a slight medicinal spirit character. Makes a superb gin and tonic as well as a great gin Martini. -
The nose is rich, with citrus oil notes: lots and lots of lemon, with some bitter orange rind notes underneath it, lending it an almost Chinotto under-note. Deeper, there’s a faint terpenic conifer note under it as well. The palate is absolutely bursting with incredible lemon flavor. The lemon adds a brightness, complemented with the background juniper: it’s fresh, it’s accessible. If you’ve been drinking citrus forward gins like Bluecoat or New Amsterdam, you owe it to yourself to try Malfy Gin. -
