Tasting NotesNose: Mild aromas of peat smoke, early morning at the rocky seaside and warm marmalade on toast all compete for our attention. Palate: It begins with great sweetness before the smoky, slightly medicinal flavours descend. Finish: Slight bitterness follows that leaves a long and lingering freshness in the mouth.

Sale! The Glenlivet 15 Year Old distinctively rich character is the result of a selective maturation process, as a proportion of the spirit is matured in French oak casks. The Glenlivet was one of the first distilleries to use French Oak in the whisky making process, a technique that has since been imitated by many others. Limousin Oak, which is cut in the Dordogne region of France, is often used to mature fine wines and cognacs. Its low density allows the spirit to penetrate deep into the wood, and we carefully control how long the whisky matures in the casks so as not to overpower the desired result: a unique, pleasing spiciness.

Sale! The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve is a tribute to our founder George Smith’s vision to define the smooth taste of Speyside Single Malt Scotch whisky. This expression is matured in a selection of traditional oak and American first-fill casks. The selective use of these casks provides a smooth, creamy sweetness that perfectly complements the fruity notes of this whisky. The delicate tones and its exceptionally smooth texture make The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve the perfect whisky for any occasion.
