A coastal chardonnay from the vineyard in El Rosario, in the northern part of the San Antonio Valley. It's focused on fruity flavors, on ripe fruits, and is enveloping in its tropical flavors. There are certain touches of spice here from aging in barrels (70% of the wine spent a year in used barrels) but most of all, it has exuberant fruit in a white that would go perfectly with grilled salmon. -

The head wine maker is Jose Maria Ureta, who originally worked with the Faustino group in Rioja, before joining the Bodegas La Val team, in 2001 he was named "Young Albariño Winemaker of the Year". TASTING NOTES A zesty, lime and pineapple nose. With bright peaches and apple fruit on the palate. There's a firm backbone of acidity which keeps the wine structured and just enough fleshiness to give a flattering mid palate.
