The Indri Dru Single Malt, from the town of the same name in the Yamuna River basin, is made from the classic 6-row Indian barley that has been cultivated for hundreds of years. It is the cask strength edition of the Indian whisky distillery. Ex-bourbon casks were used for maturation in the subtropical climate, which were then hand-selected and blended by the Master Blender. 'Dru' is Sanskrit and means wood, tree or vessel made of wood. Aromas of rich beeswax polish lead to red apple, fresh tangerine, and stewed raisin with warm spices. Maker's Mark is recognised as one of the very best bourbons, hand-crafted with no expense spared. Since the first bottle was sold in 1958, each bottle is still handmade and hand-tested by people, not machines, and is still hand-dipped with a red wax seal. Maker's Mark distills its whisky twice - once in an all-copper column still and again in a copper pot still. Matured twice in American Oak, Laphroaig quarter cask presents an irresistible doubling of flavour. Because the second maturation takes place in smaller, quarter-sized casks, the spirit has more contact with wood. This lends hints of coconut, banana and vanilla to the instantly recognizable Laphroaig flavor of smoky peat complemented by a surprising sweetness. It should be enjoyed alone, over ice or with a splash of water to fully pay tribute to the unique flavor. Laphroaig Quarter Cask begins its maturation in ex-bourbon barrels and, while still aging, is transferred to small quarter casks. Aging in smaller barrels revives an old tradition, paying tribute to the master distillers who have perfected the Laphroaig process over two centuries.
